Another topic trending on ql-users list at the moment is that of whether or not to have an event in 2014 to celebrate 30 years of the QL.
Personally, I think it’s a no-brainer: we should as long as we can make it a successful and cost-effective event. It’s getting rather late in the day and to find a venue and organise an event if we wanted it to be a Quanta event combined with the organisation’s AGM in April 2013. However, that’s not say we can’t have a smaller one day workshop and AGM in April 2014 and a bigger event later in the year, as Rich Mellor has suggested.
Rich went as far as to suggest an event he called “The Quantum Of Sinclair” to be held at the Computer Museum in Cambridge. This combines the attraction of a general computer museum with whatever form of event we could put on specifically about the QL. A room could be hired. Museum entrance fee is £5 but could be made free for Quanta members if Rich’s suggestions are followed.
